Is beer fattening ?

Beer has the undeserved reputation of being a drink that makes you fat. The real culprit, however, is rather the beer-drinkers'lifestyle. A glass of beer contains fewer calories than a corresponding glass of wine, but also fewer than milk or fruit juice.

Beer serves Belgium

In this chapter you will find information on the economic and social importance of  the sector.
The economic importance is shown by statistics on among other things, the number of companies in the sector, the part of the sector in the international trade, the investments, etc. The occupation and its dynamic, the diverging occupational qualifications in the sector, etc. will show the social importance of the sector.
Finally, a part is dedicated to the participation of the sector in the public finances (excise duties, VAT, ...).

Social responsibility

Beer brewed carefully, to be consumed with care. The Belgian Brewers take up their social responsibilities, proof is given by the Arnoldus'Convenant. Together with other professional organisations and the authorities one has come to an efficient self regulation, that has te be respected, provides sanctions and through which all consumers, especially the young ones, can be protected efficiently.
On the other hand, the Belgian Brewers (Arnoldus Group) in partnership with the IBSR (Institut Belge pour la Sécurité Routière) organise the Bob-campaigns. Through the years Bob, an ordinary personage, became the symbol of the fight against drunk driving.
